Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population across multiple facilities
• Float within Zone 3 to cover ER float pool needs, adapting quickly to different hospital environments
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including telemetry interpretation and point-of-care lab testing
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely interventions for conditions like trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies
• Document accurately in EPIC and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
• Mentor and support techs and new staff while managing a patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications (AHA required)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Willingness to float within a 60-mile radius across multiple facilities
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings/nights and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation skills
• Proficiency in point-of-care lab testing
• Knowledge of common ED diagnoses (abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, HTN)
• Ability to adapt quickly to varying unit sizes and resources
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
