Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to a diverse mix of patients in a busy Level II Trauma Center ER
• Triage and prioritize care for high-volume, high-acuity patients, including trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psych cases
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, EMTs, and the charge nurse to coordinate seamless patient care
• Monitor telemetry and manage ventilator-dependent patients with confidence
• Administer medications, perform emergency procedures, and document accurately in Cerner EMR
• Act as a patient advocate and educator, keeping families informed and supported during stressful moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or state-specific) and ability to submit for CA license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or higher and high-volume, high-acuity ER setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• TNCC certification strongly preferred
• Ability to pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (required for telemetry, L&D, ER, and critical care RNs)
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Expertise in emergency triage, trauma resuscitation, and critical care monitoring
• Proficient with ventilator management and telemetry systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations
