Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department
• Triage patients efficiently to prioritize care based on acuity levels
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by physicians
• Monitor patient vital signs, ECG, and other indicators, and respond quickly to changes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of emergency department nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills to handle high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and the care team
• Ability to work flexible per diem hours, including weekends and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and standards of care
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and emergency medication administration
• Familiarity with EHR systems and accurate documentation practices
• Skill in rapid assessment, triage, and delegation
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-stress environments
• Strong teamwork and adaptability skills
