Roles & Responsibilities

• Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff through thorough environmental services.
• Sanitize and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and equipment to prevent infection and promote healing.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a hygienic and environmentally conscious facility.
• Restock supplies and report maintenance needs to keep the hospital running smoothly.
• Respond to changing department priorities with a positive and flexible attitude.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must be local to Asheville, NC and able to work at 32 Apex Cir, Asheville, NC 28803.
• No prior experience required, but a trainable attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
• Previous healthcare housekeeping or customer service experience is a plus.
• Must meet health requirements including TB test within the last 3 months, immunizations/titers for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, flu vaccine or declination, and respirator fit test.
• Must be comfortable handling bodily fluids and willing to wear personal protective equipment including N95 masks and face shields.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.

Education

• Must be able to read and write on an 8th grade level
• High School Diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitization techniques, including proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Understanding of infection prevention and hospital safety standards.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a spotless environment.
• Customer service mindset with a courteous and professional demeanor.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed throughout the shift.
