Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision to ensure patient safety
• Manage inventory and restock supplies to keep the pharmacy running smoothly
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients and clinical staff about prescriptions and pick-up instructions
• Process prescription orders and update patient records in the pharmacy information system with attention to detail
• Follow state and federal regulations, including accurate documentation and HIPAA-compliant practices
• Support pharmacists with medication preparation tasks, compounding basics, and quality checks
• Participate in team huddles and contribute ideas to improve workflow and patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician registration or license in California (or eligible to register) preferred
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional pharmacy tech training is a plus
• Comfortable with outpatient clinic workflows and interacting directly with patients
• Background check and drug screening required as part of onboarding
• Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Preferred: Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or completion of a pharmacy technician program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and electronic prescription processing
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
• Basic knowledge of drug names, dosages, and common administration routes
• Understanding of inventory control and medication storage best practices
• Customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and clinicians
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and medication safety protocols
