Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, keeping patients calm and comfortable
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories for safe, top-quality care
- Take and mount dental X-rays with precision and care
- Support orthodontic treatments by handing instruments and managing supplies
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and caring for their orthodontic appliances
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to a smooth, welcoming practice
Qualifications
- Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification required
- Experience in orthodontic or dental assisting is a big plus
- A friendly, professional chairside manner that puts patients at ease
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- X-ray and radiation safety certification where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of orthodontic instruments, materials, and techniques
- Knowledge of dental terminology and patient care best practices
- Skill in taking dental X-rays and digital imaging
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills with patients and team members
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to every visit
