Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests across hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, and blood bank
• Work independently on the night shift to deliver accurate and timely test results
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and information systems including Epic, Wellsky, and Data Innovations
• Follow quality control procedures using URT to ensure reliable testing
• Demonstrate thoroughness in all areas of the lab as a generalist, with a strong focus on blood bank
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care

Qualifications

• Active MLT, MT, or MLS certification through ASCP or AMT
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a generalist in a clinical laboratory
• Experience working alone on the night shift and proficient in blood bank
• Ability to adapt to variable scheduling and weekend/holiday coverage

Education

• "What areas do they cover? (Hematology/Serology, Chemistry/Coag, Micro, & Blood Bank)" They cover all areas
• Do they need to be a Generalist? Yes
• Do they need to perform Phlebotomy? No
• Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties Need experience working alone on the graveyard shift and be proficient in all areas of the lab, including blood bank.
• LIS System (ie. Polytech, Avalon, Orchard Software, Apollo, Prolis, Bio Tracer, etc.) Epic
• EMR/Specific Equipment used in each area? Wellsky for blood bank, URT for our QC program, Data Innovations for our middleware.
• Lab Manager/Supervisor No
• Lab Assistant No
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Graveyard shift. We don't allow self scheduling. Our schedule is for 6 weeks.

• Scrub Color/Dress Code No dress code. It's either scrubs or business casual with close toed shoes

Knowledge & Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge across all lab departments: chemistry, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, serology, and blood bank
• Experience with Epic EMR and LIS systems
• Familiarity with Wellsky blood bank software
• Understanding of QC programs and middleware systems like Data Innovations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
