Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and procedures while keeping patients at ease.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory spaces to ensure a safe, clean environment.
- Take and document high-quality dental X-rays and orthodontic records as directed.
- Guide patients and families through braces care, oral hygiene instructions, and treatment aftercare.
- Support front office coordination by updating patient records and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver seamless, high-quality orthodontic care.
Qualifications
- Orthodontic Certification is required - we want someone who's got the credentials!
- Experience as a Dental Assistant in an orthodontic practice is a big plus.
- Proficiency with dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and patient prep.
- You thrive on creating a positive, comfortable experience for your patients.
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthodontic procedures, brackets, wires, and appliances
- Chairside assisting with the ability to anticipate provider needs
- Dental X-ray and imaging safety practices
- Infection control and OSHA standards
- Clear communication and a warm chairside manner
- Organizational skills to manage patient flow smoothly
