Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures to keep visits running smoothly
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments for a safe and hygienic environment
- Take digital X-rays, impressions, and scans to support accurate treatment planning
- Help fit, adjust, and remove braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances under the orthodontist's direction
- Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
- Document patient treatment information accurately in the dental software system
Qualifications
- Must be ortho certified
- Experience as a Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently and compassionately with patients of all ages
- Current CPR certification is preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of orthodontic assisting techniques
- Familiarity with dental practice management systems like Denticon
- Excellent patient communication and chairside manner
- Attention to detail and organization in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team
