Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures to create smooth, comfortable patient visits
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to safety standards
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Provide patients with clear instructions on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update dental charts
• Help manage clinic supplies, inventory, and sterilization logs

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Dental Assistant (CDA/RDA) as required in Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Orthodontic assisting experience strongly preferred
• Dental radiography (X-ray) certification
• Warm, friendly personality with excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of dental instruments, terminology, and sterilization best practices
• Familiarity with digital charting and practice management software (Denticon experience is a plus!)
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
• Team-oriented mindset with a passion for patient care
