Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety
• Take and process dental X-rays as directed, helping to guide treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a friendly, reassuring approach
• Document patient records and chairside notes accurately using denticon software
• Make patients feel comfortable and at ease from check-in to checkout

Qualifications

• Current dental assistant certification or registration as required by Maryland
• X-ray certification, if applicable
• Experience working as an orthodontic assistant is a plus
• CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Warm, professional communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Familiarity with denticon or other dental practice management software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
