Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, from braces adjustments to retainers, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for every patient.
• Take and develop dental X-rays to help guide treatment planning and monitor progress.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, keeping everything in top shape for the next smile.
• Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and appliance care, turning dental anxiety into confidence.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage chairside supplies so the office runs efficiently.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or registration in Maryland (or the ability to obtain it)
• X-ray certification or the ability to become certified
• Previous orthodontic experience is a plus, but we are happy to train the right person
• A friendly, compassionate chairside manner and excellent communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a lively orthodontic practice

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and orthodontic procedures
• Comfort with dental software and digital imaging systems
• Strong attention to infection control and sterilization standards
• A team-player mindset with great patient care instincts
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to jump in where help is needed
