Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and orthodontic procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and ensure a clean clinical environment
- Take dental X-rays, impressions, and photographs for treatment planning
- Apply and remove braces, wires, and other orthodontic appliances
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care of their orthodontic appliances
- Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, and manage treatment documentation
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients throughout their visit
Qualifications
- Certified or trained Dental Assistant with a passion for orthodontics
- Experience in orthodontic procedures is a plus, including braces and aligners
- Radiography/X-ray certification as required by state regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced dental team
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control
- Proficiency with dental practice management software
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Dedication to patient comfort and quality care
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic clinical setting
