Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
• Prepare operatories with the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Take and process dental X-rays to support accurate diagnosis and treatment
• Provide compassionate patient care and comfort before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring thorough and timely documentation
• Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene best practices

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in oral surgery or specialty dental practice preferred
• Valid Maryland dental radiation safety certification
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control protocols
• Understanding of oral surgery procedures and patient monitoring
• Proficiency with dental software and charting systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy when interacting with patients
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
