Shift Type: Rotating schedule, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, plus call rotation (short call 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM or long call 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and 24-hour weekend call (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) on a rotating six-week grid

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the operating room
• Prepare the OR suite for procedures, ensuring sterile supplies and equipment are ready
• Serve as a circulating or scrub nurse, assisting the surgical team throughout operations
• Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia recovery during the intraoperative period
• Document nursing interventions, patient responses, and surgical details accurately
• Participate in on-call rotations to cover emergency and after-hours surgeries

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Rhode Island
• BLS certification is required
• Prior operating room nursing experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to take call, including nights and weekends
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, and surgical instrumentation
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and patient safety practices
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable using electronic health records and surgical documentation systems
