Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to residents promoting comfort and quality of life
Lead and mentor Resident Assistants with coaching, training, and education on proper nursing techniques
Deliver safe, professional care following facility policies, nursing standards, and state and federal regulations
Follow each resident's individual plan of care to improve their overall well-being
Practice the Choices Philosophy of Care by respecting residents and treating them with dignity
Maintain safety standards using universal precautions and infection control protocols
Communicate safety concerns effectively to protect residents, visitors, and staff

Qualifications

Active Alaska LPN licensure required
Current BLSP (CPR) certification from American Heart Association required
1 year of nursing experience in long term care preferred
New graduates welcome with an 8-12 month preceptorship at Heritage Place

Education

Associate's degree in nursing

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment skills for accurate and timely care delivery
Leadership abilities to guide and support subordinate nursing staff
Knowledge of facility policies, professional nursing standards, and regulatory requirements
Commitment to safety culture and infection control practices
Ability to coordinate primary care and promote resident dignity and respect
