Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, days vary, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift, day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily personal care and assistance to geriatric residents
Support safe mobility and transfers while promoting resident independence
Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Assist with meals, grooming, and hygiene while preserving dignity and comfort
Document care activities accurately and follow established care plans
Build trusting relationships with residents and families through kind communication
Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a healthy environment

Qualifications

GNA certification or equivalent required (Class: GNA)
Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred but new grads welcome
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or certificate

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
Skilled in ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting) and mobility assistance
Basic documentation and charting skills
Ability to follow care plans and communicate observations clearly
Teamwork mindset and ability to work independently when needed
