Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (variable days), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts, using safe transfer techniques
- Assist with feeding, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene while preserving dignity
- Document resident care accurately and communicate observations to the care team
- Engage residents in friendly conversation and therapeutic activities to boost wellbeing
Qualifications
- GNA certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and able to lift/assist per facility policy
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass background and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED; current GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Empathy, patience, and respect for senior populations
