Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and record vital signs and other observations accurately
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for those in your care
• Communicate changes in condition and collaborate with the nursing team for excellent care
• Complete timely and accurate documentation to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (appropriate for Maryland practice)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with resident mobility and personal care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
• Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and any facility onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic knowledge of geriatric care and age-related health concerns
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Good observation and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with older adults
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
