Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (day shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report any changes to nursing staff
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers to promote resident independence
- Support mealtime assistance and accurately document intake as required
- Maintain accurate resident records and follow individualized care plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident comfort and dignity
Qualifications
- GNA certification or state-recognized equivalent (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred)
- Experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered care
- Strong verbal communication and compassionate bedside manner
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Reliable time management and teamwork skills
