Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality DEXA (bone density) exams with accuracy and compassion
• Ensure radiation safety and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols at all times
• Maintain infection prevention standards to protect patients and staff
• Chart thoroughly and efficiently in Epic so patient records are complete and clear
• Educate patients about procedures and results in a respectful, reassuring manner
• Operate and maintain GE DEXA equipment, reporting issues promptly
• Lead charge responsibilities when assigned, ensuring smooth unit operations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated adult outpatient care

Qualifications

• Active ARRT certification (RT (R) through OBMI required)
• OBMI credential required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of current, proficient DEXA (bone density) exam experience — bone density experience is a hard stop requirement
• Previous charge experience required
• Comfortable charting in Epic (preferred)
• Candidates do not need a separate DEXA license beyond required ARRT/OBMI credentials

Knowledge & Skills

• DEXA (Bone Density) exam proficiency — accurate positioning and scanning
• Radiation safety practices and regulatory compliance
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Familiarity with GE DEXA equipment
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Ability to manage charge tasks and unit coordination
