Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform professional dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients
• Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
• Document patient care, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile environment
• Screen patients for signs of oral disease and report findings to the dentist

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Experience with dental software and digital radiography preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing procedures
• Proficiency in taking dental radiographs and using digital imaging systems
• Understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
• Strong interpersonal skills and a gentle chairside manner
• Attention to detail and excellent documentation practices
