Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during brace placements, adjustments, and removals
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories for each patient
• Take and process dental X-rays, photos, and Invisalign scans
• Educate patients and families about orthodontic care and appliance maintenance
• Manage patient records, treatment notes, and appointment flow
• Deliver warm, reassuring chairside support to help patients feel at ease

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in orthodontics
• Fully knowledgeable in braces and Invisalign workflows as noted in the posting
• Relevant dental assisting credentials and X-ray certification as applicable in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent patient communication and chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth understanding of orthodontic instruments and materials
• Proficiency with intraoral scanners and Invisalign software
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced office
• Gentle, confident approach to patient education
• Team-focused attitude and clear communication with providers
