Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during brace placements, adjustments, and removals
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories for each patient
- Take and process dental X-rays, photos, and Invisalign scans
- Educate patients and families about orthodontic care and appliance maintenance
- Manage patient records, treatment notes, and appointment flow
- Deliver warm, reassuring chairside support to help patients feel at ease
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in orthodontics
- Fully knowledgeable in braces and Invisalign workflows as noted in the posting
- Relevant dental assisting credentials and X-ray certification as applicable in Virginia
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent patient communication and chairside manner
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth understanding of orthodontic instruments and materials
- Proficiency with intraoral scanners and Invisalign software
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced office
- Gentle, confident approach to patient education
- Team-focused attitude and clear communication with providers
