Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the lead dentist during exams and procedures to keep visits running smoothly
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms for every patient
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-visit care instructions
• Update and maintain accurate patient dental records
• Support the dental team with inventory and front desk tasks when needed

Qualifications

• New York State Dental Assistant certification or registration (or ability to obtain)
• Current X-ray certification for New York
• Previous dental assisting experience is a plus, but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome
• BLS or CPR certification preferred
• A friendly, patient-first attitude and reliable attendance

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Comfort with dental software and digital charting
• Knowledge of dental terminology and chairside assisting techniques
• Ability to maintain and handle dental equipment safely
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
