Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team in orthopedic procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile field and instruments
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to keep cases running smoothly
• Prepare operating room and equipment for procedures and ensure proper functioning
• Participate in call rotation and respond promptly to emergent OR needs, returning within 45 minutes when called
• Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to uphold patient safety, sterile technique, and OR protocols
• Document case specifics and instrument counts accurately to support patient care and compliance

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
• Operating Room (OR) experience with demonstrated competency
• Orthopedics experience — required
• Willingness and ability to participate in call rotation and return to facility within 45 minutes
• Available for travel contract assignments and open to working the specified day shift window

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and current CST credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation used in orthopedics
• Familiarity with OR workflows, case setup, and instrument sterilization processes
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and respond quickly when on-call
• Clear communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff
• Attention to detail for accurate counts, documentation, and patient safety
