Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on occupational therapy treatments that help patients rebuild daily living skills
• Partner with supervising Occupational Therapists to carry out individualized care plans
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and functional activities
• Document patient progress accurately and on time so care teams always stay in sync
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and adaptive equipment use
• Track and report changes in patient function to support timely plan adjustments
• Help create a warm, encouraging environment where patients feel motivated to progress

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Maryland
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing or rehab setting is a plus, but new grads are welcome to apply
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehab team

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and treatment techniques
• Comfort with therapeutic exercise, ADL retraining, and adaptive equipment
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation skills
• Compassionate, patient-first mindset
• Team player who communicates clearly with therapists, nurses, and families
• Strong time management and ability to juggle a busy caseload
