Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to the nursing team
- Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Assist with mealtimes and hydration, making sure each resident's nutritional needs are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and diligently document care provided
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, offering emotional support and companionship
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start
- Compassion and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with a care team
- Prior experience in long-term care is a plus, but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and safety protocols
- Strong observational skills to detect changes in residents' condition
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
- Ability to assist residents with physical tasks and use proper body mechanics
