Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform EKG lead placement and accurate patient monitoring to support safe procedures
• Scrub and maintain the sterile field during diagnostic and interventional cases
• Serve as room circulator and assist the procedural team to keep cases flowing
• Support diagnostic procedures and a full range of PCI work including stents, balloon angioplasty and advanced devices such as Impella and IABP
• Assist with structural heart procedures such as TAVR, Watchman and balloon valvuloplasty
• Provide electrophysiology support for EPS, ablations and mapping procedures
• Manage temporary pacemakers and assist with pacemaker and AICD insertion and programming
• Document procedures and care appropriately in the electronic health record (EPIC)

Qualifications

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Certifying credentials: ARRT-R or CCI RCIS (one required) or WA RT or CIS License (one required)
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required; first-timers not accepted
• Travel experience required and able to work a travel contract (local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible)
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required
• Pending licenses are not accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and cath lab procedures including left and right heart cath
• Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and PTCA
• Familiarity with Impella insertion, IABP and rotational atherectomy
• Electrophysiology knowledge: EPS, arrhythmia induction, mapping and ablation
• Rhythm interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Temporary pacemaker management and AICD/pacemaker insertion support
• Sterile technique, scrub and room circulation skills
• Comfort charting in EPIC and working within interdisciplinary teams
