Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day) with weekend call rotation every other weekend (call period runs Fri 3:30 PM - Mon 7:00 AM) and evening on-call coverage as needed (3:30 PM - 7:00 AM); primary day shift with rotating call responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures using fluoroscopy to ensure high-quality patient care
• Prepare, calibrate, and operate imaging and cath lab equipment including Xper and Philips systems
• Scrub, pass instruments, and maintain sterile technique during complex Cath, IR, and EP cases
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes, collaborating closely with cardiologists and the care team
• Float seamlessly between Cath Lab, IR, and EP lab to support surgical volume and staffing needs
• Document procedures, patient care, and equipment usage accurately in Cerner EMR
• Participate in on-call and weekend coverage reliably with a 30-minute response expectation
• Champion patient safety and infection control standards during every case

Qualifications

• RCIS or ARRT credential accepted (techs may hold either RCIS or ARRT depending on staffing needs)
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Fluoroscopy certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/IR/EP experience required; EP lab experience preferred for travelers
• Travel assignment experience preferred
• Ability to meet on-call response time requirements and float between units

Education

• No BSN required (not applicable for this technologist role)
• RCIS or ARRT credential and accredited program completion or equivalent clinical training expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology procedures
• Proficient with fluoroscopy and radiation safety practices
• Experience charting and documenting in Cerner EMR
• Experience with imaging systems such as Xper and Philips
• Comfortable assisting with device cases: ICDs, pacemakers, ablations, ports, IVC filters and venous access
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting and support 8-12 cases per day
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills in urgent situations
