Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support EHR and ancillary clinical system users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and web conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content and decision support in partnership with medical staff across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Develop clear, usable training materials and documentation to empower clinical teams
• Triage user issues promptly, escalating to Help Desk, IT specialists, coders, or clinicians as appropriate
• Update application content (labs, radiology, meds, immunizations, codes) to reflect current clinical practice
• Continuously assess and improve clinical workflows and decision support to align with best practices
• Collaborate with IT, vendors, and SEARHC teams to implement solutions that improve patient care
• Support implementations and occasional after-hours work to meet project deadlines and resolve critical issues

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Alaska license required for agency staff; direct hires must have applied for Alaska license before start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology such as programming, installation, report generation, or hardware troubleshooting
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis
• Teaching or training experience preferred
• Experience with HL7 messaging and accreditation processes is a plus
• Willingness to travel up to 10% by jet, small aircraft, and ferry

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for experience

Knowledge & Skills

• EHR and clinical information systems configuration and support
• Clinical workflows and medical decision support systems
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication with diverse audiences
• Problem-solving, sound clinical judgment, and ability to prioritize work
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites
• Experience researching and aligning clinical standards of care and best practices
• Comfort with change management, go-live activities, and working outside regular hours when needed
