Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
• Take and record vital signs, reporting any concerning changes to the nursing team promptly
• Follow individualized care plans and document care accurately and timely
• Assist with mealtime needs and ensure residents receive appropriate assistance and dignity
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to perform resident transfers and basic physical tasks safely

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident rights
• Strong observational skills to identify changes in condition
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Reliable documentation and time management skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to follow care plans
