Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Support residents during meals and assist with safe feeding when needed
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to support emotional well-being
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure individualized, person-centered care plans are followed

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) — Class: GNA (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (assisting with transfers, standing for shifts)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care needs and person-centered approaches
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic vital signs measurement and observational assessment skills
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Good documentation habits and clear communication with nursing staff
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow care plans accurately
