Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Take and record basic vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support resident mobility and fall-prevention measures while encouraging independence
• Document resident observations clearly and promptly to support care continuity
• Communicate warmly and professionally with residents, families, and team members
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in resident areas
• Respond to resident needs promptly and respectfully, prioritizing safety and well-being

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and TB screening in accordance with facility policy
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach and strong communication skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care (assistance with transfers, standing/walking for shifts)

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic ability to take and document vital signs and resident observations
• Understanding of infection prevention and safe care techniques
• Comfort assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
• Reliable time management and attention to detail for documentation tasks
