Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) to promote resident dignity
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and support independence
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and any changes in resident condition
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, respectful communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (Class: GNA)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations/TB testing
• Comfort working with geriatric and long-term care populations, including dementia care
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident-centered care and dignity-focused caregiving
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Familiarity with long-term care routines and behavioral approaches for dementia
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Understanding of HIPAA and resident confidentiality
