Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 24-hour call, 7 on/7 off (14 days per month). 24-hour coverage for inpatient rounding, procedures and ED call. Specific required coverage windows include: Mar 17-23, Apr 14-20, Jun 09-15, Jul 07-13, Aug 04-10, Aug 18-24, Sep 15-21, Sep 29-Oct 05, Oct 13-19, Oct 27-Nov 02, Nov 24-30, Dec 08-14, Dec 22-28. Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient gastroenterology care, including rounding and inpatient procedures
• Perform ERCP and bread-and-butter endoscopy procedures with clinical excellence
• Respond to ED call and manage urgent GI consults and admissions promptly
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of inpatient APPs to coordinate patient care
• Participate in credentialing/onboarding activities to meet facility requirements
• Support efficient patient throughput and timely disposition decisions in a busy hospital setting

Qualifications

• Physician with demonstrated experience in inpatient gastroenterology (Physician title required)
• ERCP competency is REQUIRED — candidates who cannot perform ERCP will not be cleared
• Proven experience with inpatient procedures, ED call responsibilities and consultations
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Clean professional record to support expedited privileges and credentialing
• Comfort working in a high-volume hospital setting and collaborating with APPs

Education

• Physician (MD or DO) — appropriate training and clinical experience in Gastroenterology required
• Relevant board certification or eligibility and current credentialing to practice (facility will credential)

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced endoscopy skills, including ERCP and routine therapeutic/diagnostic endoscopy
• Strong inpatient GI knowledge and clinical decision-making in acute settings
• Ability to manage ED consults, admissions and urgent GI cases
• Familiarity with hospital workflows and inpatient procedure logistics
• Effective teamwork and communication with APPs, nursing and multidisciplinary teams
• Efficient Epic documentation and order management
