Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist during C-sections, ensuring a safe, efficient OR environment
• Provide hands-on labor support and high-quality antepartum care for high-risk patients
• Manage COVID-positive patients across labor, C-section, antepartum, and OBED settings with appropriate precautions
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to guide clinical decisions
• Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient care accurately in CPN and Meditech to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with peers and providers to maintain patient ratios and safe staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license or eligible for Texas licensure
• Required certifications: Internal Fetal Monitoring (Int. FM), ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Demonstrated experience in labor & delivery, including OBED circulation and C-section assistance
• Comfortable managing high-risk antepartum patients and COVID-positive obstetric patients
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced unit

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; eligible for Texas licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• OBED circulate and C-section room workflow
• High-risk antepartum management and labor support
• Advanced fetal monitoring knowledge (Int. FM)
• Experience with CPN and Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to follow patient ratio models (2:1 labors, 3:1 OBED, 4:1 antepartum, 1:1 OR)
• Infection control practices for COVID patient management in obstetrics
