Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with and perform endoscopic procedures including EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EBUS and EUS
• Scrub or circulate during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and supporting the procedural team
• Monitor patients during conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care, and manage recovery
• Provide airway management and intervene for sedation-related complications when necessary
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment including FUJI scopes and ION/ultrasound devices
• Accurately document all care and procedures in Epic to ensure continuity and safety
• Handle and label specimens with precision to support accurate diagnostic results
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, Radiology, Pharmacy, Respiratory, PT) for excellent patient care
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and follow-up instructions
• Adhere to facility policies, safety standards, and Magnet-level quality expectations

Qualifications

• Alaska RN license preferred and required for Auto Offer; pending Alaska license accepted but strong preference for license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (endoscopy/GI experience preferred)
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, SGNA
• Hands-on experience with EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EBUS, EUS, Bronchoscopy and scrubbing/circulating
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities (every 5th weekend) and the facility RTO guidelines
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to work inpatient and outpatient endoscopy settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Monitoring conscious sedation and recovery protocols
• Airway management and post-procedure recovery skills
• Specimen handling and accurate labeling
• Proficiency with FUJI scopes, ION equipment, and endoscopic ultrasound tools
• Strong sterile technique for scrub and circulate roles
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record for charting
• Ability to care for a wide range of ages from neonates to geriatrics
• Team communication skills and interdisciplinary collaboration
