Speech Therapist - Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Contract Type: Contract
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 - $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on meaningful functional outcomes
- Perform dysphagia evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility standards
- Collaborate with PTs, OTs, nursing staff, and physicians to coordinate resident care
Qualifications
- Active California SLP license (required)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and safe swallowing recommendations
- Experience with assessment and treatment of speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders
- Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and compliance in long-term care
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
- Sound clinical reasoning and individualized treatment planning
