Registered Nurse - Pediatrics
Location: Bismarck, ND
Start Date: 09-07-2026
End Date: 12-07-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, or a day/night rotation. Self-scheduling based on seniority; weekend requirement is every other or every 3rd weekend.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients aged 0-18 with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
- Monitor and titrate IV drips (e.g., Tylenol, Keppra, Insulin) as ordered, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes
- Float to the NICU or newborn nursery as census fluctuates, providing specialized care when needed
- Collaborate with a close-knit team of nurses and pediatricians to coordinate care, including pre-op and second-phase recovery for pediatric surgical patients
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge care in an empowering way
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with remote telemetry teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric and Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Active RN license (or compact license) - license to submit required
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Ability to titrate drips; experience with Insulin preferred but not required
- NICU experience preferred
- Independent, communicative, and team-oriented
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric nursing best practices and assessment skills
- Medical-surgical nursing across pediatric populations
- Drip titration and IV therapy administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and independence in a fast-paced unit
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system is a plus
