Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including acute, observation, and swing bed patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythms, stepping in quickly when intervention is needed
• Skillfully start IVs, insert NG tubes and foleys, and manage patients with respiratory support such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Collaborate with a close-knit team of nurses and CNAs to ensure every patient receives personalized attention
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions to empower them on their health journey
• Be a dependable member of the code team, bringing calm and expertise during emergencies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state (NLC)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical/surgical or telemetry nursing
• Proven skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, NG tube and foley insertion
• Comfortable setting up and troubleshooting BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• No previous travel experience required - we welcome first-time travelers!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of acute and swing bed patient populations (pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, GI bleed)
• Ability to read telemetry strips independently
• Experience with MEDITECH charting system is a plus
• Understanding of ventilator and respiratory support equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
