Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry patients in the ED holding unit, interpreting cardiac rhythms and promptly identifying changes
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone per physician orders and parameters
• Provide compassionate care to patients waiting for hospital placement, primarily medical-surgical and telemetry
• Collaborate with the ED charge nurse and team to assist with ED patient care, including vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration as needed
• Float to med/surg/tele/overflow units as needed to support hospital-wide patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry experience (within the past 6 months)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max) through RELIAS
• Successfully complete a PASS/FAIL SIM lab on day one of orientation
• Strong ECG interpretation and cardiac drip titration skills
• Comfortable caring for patients in a fast-paced ED holds environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
• Proficiency in cardiac drip titration (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone)
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Knowledge of medical-surgical and telemetry patient care
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
