Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychological assessment and individual therapy for an adult correctional population
• Deliver evidence-based interventions and behavior management strategies tailored to each patient
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment planning with clinical clarity
• Document clinical encounters, progress notes and treatment plans accurately and timely
• Collaborate with custody staff and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure safety
• Participate in orientation and onboarding activities to integrate smoothly with facility protocols
• Support program development and contribute to a therapeutic environment that promotes rehabilitation

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted license as a Psychologist in California (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Alternatively, active CA license as LCSW, LMFT or LPCC may be considered based on facility needs
• Clinical experience in mental health settings; experience in correctional or forensic care is a strong plus
• Comfort working within facility policies and collaborating with interdisciplinary and custody teams
• Strong documentation skills and ability to manage a structured caseload during set clinic hours

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist role
• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
• Skilled in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and behavior management in higher-acuity settings
• Excellent clinical documentation, time management, and caseload organization
• Ability to collaborate effectively with medical, mental health, and custody staff
• Cultural competence and trauma-informed care approach when working with diverse populations
