Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and provide evidence-based individual and group therapy
• Develop meaningful treatment plans that support patient progress and safety
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary correctional staff to coordinate care
• Document clinical interactions thoroughly and maintain accurate, timely records
• Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support as needed
• Participate in trainings and team meetings to strengthen program quality and outcomes
• Respect and uphold facility policies while advocating for patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid PSYL classification or equivalent licensed psychologist credential required for California practice
• Doctoral-level training in psychology (PhD or PsyD) and active, unrestricted license preferred
• Experience or comfort working in correctional or forensic mental health settings is highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with demonstrated documentation proficiency
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and evidence-based interventions
• Skilled in crisis management, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care
• Solid clinical documentation and treatment planning abilities
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage caseloads effectively
• Comfort collaborating with custody staff and interdisciplinary teams
