Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality non-invasive cardiology care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) promptly and accurately to guide patient care
• Manage daily clinic panels (approximately 10 patients/day) with thorough, patient-centered visits
• Handle inpatient admissions and acute cardiology needs (averaging 12–15 admissions/day per physician)
• Participate in a 1:6 call rotation to ensure continuous cardiac coverage
• Supervise and mentor a team of 4 advanced practice clinicians (APCs), providing guidance and oversight
• Document clinical care clearly and efficiently using EPIC
• Collaborate with the existing cardiology group and hospital teams to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Non-Invasive Cardiologist (required)
• Active medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain state licensure in a timely manner
• Comfortable with inpatient and outpatient cardiology workflows and call responsibilities
• Proven ability to interpret EKGs and manage non-invasive cardiology procedures
• Experience supervising APCs or working in a team-based clinical setting
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
• Available for ASAP coverage and able to support coverage until a permanent physician is onboarded

Education

• MD or DO (physician medical degree)
• Board Certification in Non-Invasive Cardiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Non-invasive cardiology best practices and clinical decision-making
• Electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation and related diagnostics
• Inpatient and outpatient management of adult and geriatric cardiology patients
• Proficient documentation and order entry in EPIC
• Effective supervision and mentorship of APCs
• Clear communication across multidisciplinary teams and with patients/families
