Roles & Responsibilities

• Participate actively on tumor board to guide multidisciplinary cancer care decisions
• Manage bone marrow transplant patients and collaborate with transplant teams for continuity of care
• Prescribe and manage chemotherapy regimens and supportive care for adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to inform treatment planning
• Coordinate with the blood bank for transfusion needs and related patient management
• Provide inpatient rounding and hospital-based care when covering call/rounding responsibilities
• Document care efficiently in EPIC to ensure clear communication with the care team

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completed fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology (or equivalent training)
• Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology/Hematology
• Active medical license in the state of South Carolina or ability to obtain state licensure in a timely manner
• Current DEA registration (or willing/able to obtain) to prescribe controlled substances
• Demonstrated experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology patient management
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems for documentation and order entry
• Comfort managing adult and geriatric patient populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in medical oncology and hematology
• Experience with chemotherapy protocols and safe administration practices
• Management of bone marrow transplant patients and post-transplant care
• Tumor board collaboration and multidisciplinary communication
• Blood bank coordination and transfusion medicine principles
• Proficiency with EPIC for documentation, ordering, and clinical workflows
• Ability to interpret imaging and diagnostic tests relevant to oncology care
