Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-09-2026

End Date: 09-08-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across acute inpatient units
Treat a diverse caseload including general medical, post-surgical, and neurological patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Develop individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and independence
Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the care team
Support patients through their rehabilitation journey with compassion and expertise

Qualifications

Active California PT license required
BLS certification required
Acute Inpatient PT experience essential
Strong clinical skills in treating orthopedic, neurological, and deconditioned patients

Knowledge & Skills

Acute inpatient physical therapy expertise
Experience with total joint replacements and spinal surgery recovery
Ability to manage varied patient populations including stroke recovery
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Comfort working in fast-paced hospital environments
