Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with a warm, professional greeting and guide them through their visit
• Answer phone calls and route inquiries to the right team members
• Perform venipunctures and blood draws with skill and a gentle touch, prioritizing patient comfort
• Accurately identify and label specimens following strict patient and specimen identification policies
• Use computer systems to register and accession specimens efficiently
• Handle various needles, anticoagulants, and special test preparations with confidence
• Help maintain inventory and keep supplies organized
• Assist with specimen processing to ensure timely and accurate results
• Pitch in with additional tasks to keep the lab running smoothly

Qualifications

• You bring at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience to the table
• You hold a current Phlebotomy Certification
• You are comfortable working with patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
• You live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as this is a travel role
• You are ready to complete MI LTC Fingerprinting during compliance
• You can share a current work history and skills checklist within 1 year
• You have two supervisory reference forms completed within the past two years ready to go

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in venipuncture and blood collection techniques
• Knowledge of specimen collection, labeling, and processing
• Strong patient identification practices
• Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatrics
• Familiarity with various needles, anticoagulants, and special test handling
• Basic computer skills for registering and accessioning specimens
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
