Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for orthodontic treatment with a warm, reassuring approach
• Assist the orthodontist chairside during adjustments, bracket placement, and wire changes
• Take and process dental radiographs and intraoral images with precision
• Sterilize and organize instruments to keep every appointment safe and efficient
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, retainer care, and what to expect at each visit
• Keep treatment rooms stocked, clean, and ready for the next smile

Qualifications

• Must be ortho certified
• Dental assisting experience, ideally in an orthodontic setting
• Current radiography certification as required by the state of Maryland
• A friendly, patient-first attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to keep pace in a busy, detail-focused clinical environment
• Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to grow your ortho skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthodontic chairside assisting techniques
• Bracket, wire, and retainer systems knowledge
• Dental radiography and imaging
• Infection control and sterilization protocols
• Patient education and comfort management
• Charting, scheduling, and dental software familiarity
