Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome patients warmly and get them settled and comfortable before treatment begins
• Prepare and organize treatment rooms with the instruments and materials the orthodontist needs
• Assist chairside during orthodontic procedures, including bonding brackets, placing wires, and fitting bands
• Sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection control standards throughout the clinic
• Take dental radiographs and impressions that support accurate treatment planning
• Teach patients and families how to care for braces, aligners, and retainers at home
• Keep patient records, charting, and scheduling running smoothly so every visit stays on time

Qualifications

• Orthodontic certification is required for this role
• Dental assisting experience, ideally in an orthodontic practice
• Current radiography or dental X-ray certification as required by the state
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Comfort working a 1:30 PM - 9:00 PM evening shift
• A friendly, patient-first attitude and strong teamwork skills

• Chairside orthodontic assisting and four-handed dentistry
• Orthodontic wire, band, and bracket systems
• Instrument sterilization and infection control best practices
• Digital radiography and taking quality impressions
• Dental practice software and electronic charting
• Patient education and coaching on oral hygiene and appliance care
• Time management and keeping a busy schedule on track
• Clear communication with patients, families, and the clinical team
• Attention to detail and a calm, steady presence under pressure
