Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment
• Take dental X-rays and intraoral photos as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
• Manage patient records and update treatment plans in the dental software system
• Support the clinical team to deliver smooth and efficient patient visits

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification as required by Maryland state
• X-ray certification and experience with dental imaging
• Previous orthodontic experience preferred, but we welcome strong assistants looking to specialize
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Denticon) is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients of all ages
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated dental team
